I have to admit that I do not know which Doctor I am registered with at the Surgery since my previous doctors left, but I don't mind who I see usually so have not had too much trouble getting an appointment. The staff are courteous and helpful and all the doctors that I've seen have given good care.

Thank you for your positive feedback. In the next couple of months we will be notifying patients who their registered doctor is, saying that this does not prevent you seeing any available doctor you wish.

It is extremely difficult to obtain an appointment at any time with this practice. Trying to get an appointment with a doctor that you want to see is neigh on impossible! I use the online appointments service and I was outraged to see that I could not book an appointment with a female doctor until two weeks down the line! Every single appointment available was with a male doctor - this is just totally, utterly unacceptable. None of the appointments are convenient for anyone who works full time and has to commute to London - the hard to get commuter slots for this week are, guess what, all with male doctors! The only choice is to ring first thing in the morning to try and get an appointment with a female doctor (good luck with that) or to queue up outside the surgery with about twenty other people before it opens (out of the question for a commuter and all the appointments have usually gone anyway). I'm not a frequent surgery user - I only visit a doctor when I really have to. I have listed a lot of complaints here but I just feel that something really should be done to sort this surgery out. The receptionists are extremely rude at times - they seem to think of patients as a complete inconvenience. I only recognised two of the doctor's names on the available appointments list - every time that I visit this surgery there are new doctors that only seem to stick around for a couple of months before leaving. There is absolutely no consistency. Rarely have I ever been seen on time either - the last doctor I saw kept me waiting half an hour. A close family member of mine recently had the dubious pleasure of seeing Dr Crispin-Chavez as she could not get an appointment with a doctor of her choosing. By all accounts this doctor is a very rude man with little respect for his patients. His attitude was appalling and he was completely disinterested in my family member. He did not listen at all and kept interrupting for the entire consultation. Why is the surgery employing doctors like this? I remember when this surgery employed kind, caring and reliable doctors who would have done anything to ensure their patients received excellent care. The surgery is so disappointing but us patients are trapped - its the only surgery in the area and so we have no choice but to use it.

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback, I will address each point in turn as you have raised it. Employment law prevents us from stipulating a particular gender of doctor when recruiting or employing a locum. In fact usually only 2 out of our 7 doctors are male so they are unrepresented.Patients are welcome to see an available doctor of their choice but we do not have to provide a particular gender. In hospitals most gynaecologists are male! Frequently our commuter clinics are not fully booked, or ,are by those patients able to come at other times of the day, or by patients who do not attend so the appointment is wasted. There is a move by the Government to extend primary care hours but it should be understood the well loved and respected partners will not be working these extended hours. To make a general comment "receptionists are rude at times" is not constructive or useful. All staff are expected to give a high standard of service and as the manager if I am told specifically when this is not the case I have the opportunity to follow up with the member of staff in question. It should be noted that our receptionists work under extreme pressure and are frequently verbally abused by patients. I do not believe any of the receptionists see patients as an inconvenience and frequently go above and beyond what is required of their role. Doctors- the 3 partners have worked in Lingfield for 20 years give or take. We have 3 salaried GPs, 2 of which are on maternity leave at present. As with many young people they have chosen to have families of their own. The partners have decided to recruit extra doctor sessions to meet the increasing demand. Dr Crispin-Chavez is a highly thought of, experienced doctor who cares deeply about patient care. A doctor/patient relationship is uniquely personal , what suits one person may not suit another because we are all seeking something different from the consultation. Finally, I would point out that although you feel disappointed with the surgery, for which I am sorry, you can only speak for yourself and not for 'us patients' as you have stated. I would be delighted to meet with you in person to discuss in further details any of the points raised or others. Please ask to speak to the Practice Manager.

The receptionists are incompetent, they were extremly rude over the phone. They promised to sort out medical information for me and havent bothered, every time i rang back to ask them nothing happened and all i got was rude telephone manor, i am disgusted by this surgery and have no hesitation on taking this matter further

Response from Lingfield Surgery

Thank you for your feedback although it is non specific and therefore not constructive. All telephone calls are monitored for training purposes and reception staff are given the opportunity to listen to calls in order for them to learn how better to handle situations. We do not accept that our 'receptionists' meaning all receptionists are incompetent and rude. If you would like to discuss this matter with the Practice Manager and be more specific it can be followed up.

My health visitor phoned this doctor surgery with serious concerns about my mental wellbeing and my personal safety and they said they were unable to see me for a WEEK. Terrible surgery that doesn't care at all about mental health. Avoid like the plague.

Response from Lingfield Surgery

Thank you for your feedback. We have a good working relationship with the Health Visitor team who visit the surgery on a weekly basis to provide feedback. If they deem a situation to be urgent then the patient is seen on the same day by the duty doctor. If this were the case we are frankly amazed that the Health Visitor concerned would not have raised this as a significant event with the surgery. As your comments are non specific you would need to contact the surgery and provide more detail in order for the Practice Manager to follow this up with the Health Visitors.
